That’s right! We’re expanding The Mill Coworking and more than doubling our square footage.
For the past year, we've been hard at work growing The Mill Coworking. We're so happy with what the space has become, the many talented people that have worked here and the people we continue to meet every day.
From the beginning, The Mill Coworking was designed to be a small, boutique coworking space that focused on providing a heads-down, “get work done” environment. We've received great feedback over the course of the year regarding our vision for the space and it is clear that the smaller, tight-knit nature of our community is something many people are looking for.
With the positives of our size, also came some negatives. The large windows of our mill building architecture, high ceilings etc. meant that we didn't want to "break up" the space with a lot of private offices. This means (until now) we've been focused on providing large, premium dedicated desks in a more open environment. However, we regularly receive inquiries from folks looking for private offices due to the nature of their work. It is clear that our current space works phenomenally for many but for some, a more private space is necessary.
This all said we are happy to announce that we have acquired the unit directly adjacent to our existing space here at The Mill Coworking. Our newly-acquired space more than doubles our total square footage, allows for the addition of several private offices, much more flex (grab a seat where you'd like) space as well as a large conference/presentation/classroom area.
Our own expansion is led by the extensive expansion happening throughout the Atherton area here in South End. Whether it’s the rail trail expansion, the opening of Barry’s Bootcamp, the announcement of Legion Brewing’s new concept, or the many many other restaurants, bars and retail to come, Atherton is growing.
At the moment we are in the midst of designing and permitting our buildout work and will begin work in the coming weeks. Although we are in the early stages, we already have people inquiring about joining our waitlist for a private office. Even though we are just getting started on the buildout process, we are targeting an opening of the new space before the end of the year!
